Africa is a very large continent and we have so many
fantastic destinations and highlights that you could
visit for your forthcoming holiday. I have summarized
below, a few highlights of each of the countries, to
give you a slightly better idea of what each Southern
Africa country features. I believe that one visit to
Africa is not enough in your lifetime, you need to come
and enjoy our sub-continent a few times, to be able to
honestly say, “I have been to Africa.”

An exciting and adventurous developed country
with an excellent infrastructure which includes from
Backpacker
lodges to 5 star World Class Hotels and Wildlife Lodges,
modern airports, highways and shopping malls, fantastic & breath-taking
scenery of mountains, valleys, desert, savannah and
bushlands, lovely wide sandy beaches with snorkelling
and scuba diving, wildlife of every description indigenous
to South Africa and a wonderful multi-cultural history
and friendly nation. There are a large number of the
better establishments listed on the website – Accommodation
in Africa The most popular destinations include
Cape Town, Kruger Park & the Sabi Sands, Johannesburg & Durban,
Drakensberg Mountains and the Greater St Lucia Wetlands
Park in Zululand. So whether you want to go up Table
Mountain, Robben island, the Winelands or Garden Route,
maybe horse-riding amongst wildlife in Zululand, or
riding on the back of an elephant near Kruger or Sun
City – we have it all!

If you enjoy vast open spaces, dramatic
scenery, a harsh landscape, few people and something
special and unique,
then Namibia is for you! Over half the country is desert
or semi-desert and then the northern portion is bush
and wildlife country. The distances are vast between
the various attractions which could include Fish
River Canyon, Sossusvlei in
the Namib Desert, the rugged
Skeleton
Coast, the tribal nomads & mountains of
the Kaokoland or
the astonishing wildlife of Etosha
Reserve or neighbouring private wildlife reserves,
Namibia has so much to offer and more. If you plan
on a self-drive holiday, remember, less than 15% of
the roads have a sealed tar surface – the majority
of the roads are gravel, so the travelling time is
a LOT longer than what you expect. We have a wide selection
of accommodation on offer displayed on our other website:

The Kingdom of Lesotho is an independent
country in the heart of South Africa and is well known
for its stunning
Mountain scenery, friendly people and pony-trekking
safaris. It is also a great country to explore in a
4x4, visiting high and remote waterfalls, huge dams,
rural villages, mountain passes and even a ski-resort.
Lesotho is also home to the highest mountain peak in
Southern Africa and there is not one piece of land
below 1000 metre above sea level – the only country
in the world to such a claim! If you enjoy high altitude,
rugged country, friendly people and real adventure,
explore Lesotho on your next African vacation.

One of my favourite destinations which
offers the best of wildlife viewing, best of wildlife
lodges and the
best of photographic safaris. You can enjoy a flying
safari onto the Okavango Delta or a 4x4 safari through
Moremi
to Chobe Reserves or even south to the Central
Kalahari Desert and Makgadikgadi
Pans. It is a year-round
destination, with birding best in the warmer summer
months between November and February and then the wildlife
viewing at its peak during the cooler months between
June and September. The Migration of THOUSANDS of Zebra
and Wildebeest, followed by the predators takes place
from March to June and then the young are born with
the spring rains during October to December. So from
participation camping safaris to upmarket flying safaris,
Botswana is
an ideal country to spend 10 to 14 days of your next
African Vacation.
Be sure to book your safari holiday to Botswana and if you are planning to come to South Africa or Botswana during our summer, we have a great SPECIAL OFFER, called "5 RIVERS SPECIAL" from December to March every year. HUGE DISCOUNTS!!

Another independent Kingdom surrounded
by the two countries of South Africa and Mocambique.
Swaziland has the scenic
and rugged mountains in the western portion near Mbabane
and then levels down to flat wildlife areas of Mkhaya
and Hlane Reserves in the east. Adventure tourism,
arts and crafts, and cultural experiences are sure
to guarantee an enjoyable holiday to Swaziland.

Once caught up in a civil war for 20 years,
this beautiful country has recovered well to be a prime
and prestigious
holiday destination. It offers long and clean beaches
with stunning lodges along its coral reefed coastline,
from Maputo in the south to Pemba in the north. The
highlights of your vacation in Mozambique would
include snorkelling, scuba diving, swimming with dolphins,
deep-sea fishing for game-fish, fly fishing in the
reefs and enjoying the very friendly warmth of the
natives of this sun-drenched coastal country. Some
of the lodges are located on the islands of Benguerra
or Bazaruto and offer a 5 star service.

This is a stunning country with superb
wildlife, lodges and scenery and very friendly people.
At the moment,
there is a political and economic disaster in Zimbabwe,
and we do not recommend tourists visit the urban areas.
The wildlife lodges & hotels that can still recommend
are in the Hwange, Victoria Falls, Kariba, Matusadona
and Mana Pools regions. We have successfully hosted
clients on safaris in these popular
destinations and
everyone has felt safe and had a marvellous vacation.
I am certain that once Mugabe leaves, peace and economic
stability shall return countrywide after some free
and fair democratic elections. Check with us on the
latest situation.

Situated north of the mighty Zambezi River – one
can visit the Vic Falls from the town of Livingstone,
or to the Lower Zambezi below the Kariba Dam where some
fantastic wildlife experiences can be enjoyed, or to
some of the well known wildlife reserves such as South
Luangwa or Kafue Parks. Distances are great and the roads
are not in the best condition, so it is quicker and cheaper
to fly between lodges. We have more information on lodges
with text and photos on our Accommodation
in Zambia website.

Known as “The Warm Heart of Africa”,
the land-locked country of Malawi has its lake as one
of
the main attractions. Enjoy a beach holiday, a wildlife
safari in the south or a lake safari on a kayak or yacht.
The Zomba plateau is rich and fertile in the south, the
Liwonde National Park is home to elephants, hippos, crocodiles
and a variety of antelope at the southern end of the
Lake – and then you might like to enjoy The Best
of Central Africa Wings Safari which includes the South
Luangwa Park in Zambia with wildlife and beach on Lake
Malawi!
Visit the Accommodation in Zambia website to get more information on a safari or holiday in Malawi.

This East African country is world famous
for a number of reasons – Mount Kilimanjaro, Serengeti,
Ngorongoro Crater and the superb circular wildlife
migration across the plains and rivers between Tanzania
and Kenya. If
you wish to climb the tallest free-standing mountain
in the world – Mount Kilimanjaro, we have a variety
of routes to offer you. If you wish to experience the
unbelievable wildlife and stunning scenery, we can
offer you either a 4x4 safari or a flying safari to
the best wildlife reserves. If you wish to explore
the “Spice Island” of Zanzibar and enjoy
some superb diving and culture, we have just the right
lodges for you.

The land of wildlife, mountains and beaches!
Without a doubt, the most famous of the wildlife reserves
is
the Masai
Mara and the animal migration of thousands
of wildebeest and other animals into this reserve from
Tanzania. Adventurous tourists would enjoy climbing
Mount Kenya and other peaks in the area and then to
relax, spend time at the fantastic beaches near Mombassa.
Enjoy some sailing, snorkelling or scuba diving.

The Islands – as we refer to them
as, are great for a relaxing beach experience, in luxury.
Our packages
to either of the islands will originate from Johannesburg
and will include your flight, transfers to the luxury
hotel of your choice, most meals and activities. Lots
of our clients spend a week on one of the islands, after
a week or two spent wildlife viewing in Southern Africa.
Please realise, that being islands, virtually everything
is imported, so this does led to higher prices than at
resorts in South Africa, but the experience is far different
and very enjoyable. Mauritius is the cheaper of the two
islands – and in fact, Seychelles consists of a
collection of many islands with many hotels and lodges
on the different islands.
