AFRICAN BUNDU SAFARIS is proud in offering
a Fast, Friendly and Efficient service. Dean Foster, the owner, initially from Durban, selects all of its staff and Guides on these criteria. We are actually a small company but we
offer a huge service, that has given us a proud and
recognisable reputation throughout Southern Africa.
Dean Foster officially registered AFRICAN BUNDU SAFARIS in January 1997. Having spent
the previous 20 years travelling around Southern Africa, gave Dean Foster previously of Durban some excellent first-hand knowledge of exciting destinations and enabled him to meet many
lodge owners personally, which is very important to ensure his clients get
personal service.
2012 - Despite the Global Economic problems, we are still in business and BIG thanks to all our regular and past clients for their continued support. Many lodges in Southern Africa are offering us discounts or last years rates, to make it affordable for our clients to enjoy a safari holiday in Southern or East Africa in 2011-2012. If you have 5 or more nights at some lodges, we can even offer a special rate (or a free night) - so please ask. Be sure to visit our BLOG site, where we upload weekly SPECIAL OFFERS - the link is at the bottom of most of the pages on this website. THANKS.
Over these past years, Dean Foster has worked hard to make African Bundu Safaris grow from strength to strength, achieving
numerous awards and recognitions from various role players in the Tourism business,
e.g. Top Achiever Car Rental for two years running, Tourism Ambassador for
KwaZulu-Natal province.
From 1997 to 2001, Dean Foster from Durban was the Senior Guide for African Bundu Safaris, which had seen him away from the office and Durban frequently - and during this time, he had employed numerous freelance Guides to assist with various safaris and tours that he was not personally able to guide. These Guides are hand-picked and offer as excellent a service as Dean would. From 2002, Dean ‘hung up his travelling boots’ and became the office Manager, where he personally plans all the customised itineraries and makes bookings for accommodation and safaris virtually anywhere in Southern Africa, using his knowledge from years of travel experience. Frequently he visits lodges, hotels and guesthouses in the various countries, to conduct site-inspections and to update himself on the current operations of these businesses. At the beginning of 2006, Dean moved the head office to the beautiful eastern Free State, where he is now residing.
Working alongside Dean in the office is the ever-cheerful Niki, who maintains our various websites, collects the latest rates and updates our 100's of documents & various websites. Niki also "holds the fort" when Dean has to go away to visit lodges or attend workshops.
For tourists who prefer guided tours in South Africa, he employs a number of Freelance Guides for this trips. Meet some of our Guides below. (We do NOT have any vacancies for new Tour Guides nor Pilots.)
